-Country Fair Ticket sales - Wednesday & Thursday 8 - 9 am; 2 - 4 pm and Friday 5 - 6 pm
Friday, May 27, 2022, 9:30AM: The annual Bronxville School Memorial Day program in front of the school. This special program includes a wide participation of faculty and students from the Bronxville School in addition to representation from our local veterans. The School ceremony will include the students singing the Star Spangled Banner, an invocation, Mayor’s address and placement of the wreaths. A brief service will then follow at the Bronxville Cemetery.
Friday, May 27: Country Fair with Food Trucks, on the School Lawn and Pondfield Road 5-8 pm. Tickets are required for children and can be purchased on site. The fair will include:
-Photobooth
-Games, Rides, and Carnival Booths
-Face painting
-Art Station
-Cotton Candy
-Food Trucks
-DJ
May 29, 2022: Eastchester-Tuckahoe Memorial Day Ceremony Commemorating the 80th anniversary of the "Doolittle Raid." Bronxville High School Auditorium. Doors open at 6:15pm. Starts at 7:00pm.
Monday, May 30, 2022, 8:45 am: Bronxville will hold its 100th Memorial Day parade and Ceremony. The Village’s 100th Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony will kick off on Monday, May 30th at 8:45 a.m. at Leonard Morange Square along Parkway Road. Ceremonies will commence by this year’s Grand Marshals former Bronxville residents Vicki and Si Ford, both of whom were extraordinary leaders who made enormous contributions to our community over the course of their 50 years as residents! Following a brief ceremony at the Veteran’s Memorial at Leonard Morange Square, a parade will proceed down Pondfield Road to the Bronxville School and include our local veterans from Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2285 in Eastchester, multiple bands and community leaders and groups.
Everyone is also encouraged to visit and reflect at our Veteran’s Memorial display located on the lawn of Village Hall at the four corners. It is here that the names of our deceased veterans from the past year are listed along with their branch of service
Bronxville is a quaint village (one square mile) located just 16 miles north of midtown Manhattan (roughly 30 minutes on the train) and has a population of approximately 6,500. It is known as a premier community with an excellent public school (K-12) and easy access to Manhattan. Bronxville offers many amenities including an attractive business district, a hospital (Lawrence Hospital), public paddle and tennis courts, fine dining at local restaurants, two private country clubs and a community library.
While the earliest settlers of Bronxville date back to the first half of the 18th century, the history of the modern suburb of Bronxville began in 1890 when William Van Duzer Lawrence purchased a farm and commissioned the architect, William A. Bates, to design a planned community of houses for well-known artists and professionals that became a thriving art colony. This community, now called Lawrence Park, is listed on the National register of Historic Places and many of the homes still have artists’ studios. A neighborhood association within Lawrence Park called “The Hilltop Association” keeps this heritage alive with art shows and other events for neighbors.
Bronxville offers many charming neighborhoods as well as a variety of living options for residents including single family homes, town houses, cooperatives and condominiums. One of the chief benefits of living in “the village” is that your children can attend the Bronxville School.
The Bronxville postal zone (10708, known as “Bronxville PO”) includes the village of Bronxville as well as the Chester Heights section of Eastchester, parts of Tuckahoe and the Lawrence Park West, Cedar Knolls, Armour Villa and Longvale sections of Yonkers. Many of these areas have their own distinct character. For instance, the Armour Villa section has many historic homes and even has its own newsletter called “The Villa Voice” which reports on neighborhood news.
