Little Fingers Learn to Type at The Chapel School

Oct. 23, 2013: Mrs. Gollenberg's fourth grade class at The Chapel School is excited to be working on new laptops. The laptops were purchased to bring more technology into the classrooms.

Along with Smart Board lessons, the laptops will be used to further enhance the curriculum. When asked what they thought of the new laptops, the students replied, "Two thumbs up!"

The fourth graders will use the new technology for class projects and to practice a program aimed to improve their typing skills. Learning to type correctly is an invaluable skill for anyone. It is especially useful for these students because it will help them development cognitively and increase their thinking skills.

The students will use the laptops to research projects for their history and science classes. They will be able to type creative stories that can then be printed. The students are excited to learn this skill, which they will be able to use throughout their lives.
