September 26, 2025: "The Future of Teaching" with keynote speaker John Warner.  This will take place at the Gabelli Center for Teaching & Learning at Iona University, New Rochelle Campus.  CLICK HERE for more information.

September 26 & 27, 2025: Sidewalk Sale in Bronxville. Free parking will be available after 12 PM Friday, September 26, and on Saturday, September 27, in the Kraft Avenue Lot, Kensington Garage, and Merchant parking areas (with a valid permit). In addition, the Garden Avenue Lot will also have free parking on Saturday only. All other parking regulations remain in effect.

October 16, 2025: 11:30am - 2:00pm: Cancer Support Team Hosts 26th Annual Health Education Luncheon Featuring MSK's Chief Strategy Officer.  The event will take place at the Scarsdale Golf Club, One Club Way, Hartsdale, NY.The featured speaker is Anaeze Offodile II, MD, MPH, Chief Strategy Officer at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). October 17, 2025. 3:00 - 4:00pm at the Bronxville Library Yeager Room: Readings by authors from Bronxville High School's Class of 1970, including the following: 

Kate Ferris, whose father was Rector at Christ Church, will read from her novel, Finding Lillie, historical fiction dealing with a privileged woman in the first years of the 1900s.  

James Hockenberry, a second generation Bronxvillian, will read selections from his thriller suspense trilogy centered during World War I.  

Lee Stockdale, who won the 2022 United Kingdom National Poetry Prize, will read from Gorilla and from his forthcoming collection, Bronxville.

October 30, 2025, 9:00am -11:30am: How to Support Your Grieving School Community - Fostering an open and honest dialogue about death, dying and grief in your school.

This is a workshop for Administrators, Principals, Clinicians, Guidance Counselors, Nurses, Social Workers, and Psychologists.
 
Kathryn Kehoe-Biggs, LCSW, Ph.D began her work at the Bereavement Center of Westchester in 2001. She provided individual grief counseling and ran grief support groups for adults, children and adolescents. In addition, she conducted trainings for school personnel and tree house volunteers.
 
She currently, has a private practice in Pelham and continues to train and lecture at BCW.

Picture House Events

-Senior Cinema Returns to the Picture House.  Moviegoers 65 and older enjoy free films on Tuesday afternoons at 2:30pm from September - June.  The program starts September 2nd. For more information, visit www.thepicturehouse.org or call 914-738-7337.

Now through October 15, 2025: Gas-powered Leaf Blower Ban. The Village of Bronxville seasonal prohibition on gas-powered leaf blowers runs from May 15 through October 15.

Bronxville Overview

Bronxville is a quaint village (one square mile) located just 16 miles north of midtown Manhattan (roughly 30 minutes on the train) and has a population of approximately 6,500. It is known as a premier community with an excellent public school (K-12) and easy access to Manhattan. Bronxville offers many amenities including an attractive business district, a hospital (Lawrence Hospital), public paddle and tennis courts, fine dining at local restaurants, two private country clubs and a community library.

While the earliest settlers of Bronxville date back to the first half of the 18th century, the history of the modern suburb of Bronxville began in 1890 when William Van Duzer Lawrence purchased a farm and commissioned the architect, William A. Bates, to design a planned community of houses for well-known artists and professionals that became a thriving art colony. This community, now called Lawrence Park, is listed on the National register of Historic Places and many of the homes still have artists’ studios. A neighborhood association within Lawrence Park called “The Hilltop Association” keeps this heritage alive with art shows and other events for neighbors.

Bronxville offers many charming neighborhoods as well as a variety of living options for residents including single family homes, town houses, cooperatives and condominiums. One of the chief benefits of living in “the village” is that your children can attend the Bronxville School.

The Bronxville postal zone (10708, known as “Bronxville PO”) includes the village of Bronxville as well as the Chester Heights section of Eastchester, parts of Tuckahoe and the Lawrence Park West, Cedar Knolls, Armour Villa and Longvale sections of Yonkers. Many of these areas have their own distinct character. For instance, the Armour Villa section has many historic homes and even has its own newsletter called “The Villa Voice” which reports on neighborhood news.
