Now through April 27, 2025: The Orchid Show: Mexican Modernism at the New York Botanical Gardens. The NYBG website describes this show as follows: "Set off on a journey where the fusion of tradition and contemporary artistry takes center stage amid awe-inspiring displays of orchids, and wander through lush landscapes brought into vivid relief with thousands of flowers that showcase diverse ecosystems. Among bright arrangements of orchids in settings inspired by the bold, multicolored designs of Mexican modernist architect Luis Barragán, come visit a paradise of tropical beauty—without ever leaving the Bronx." March 12, 2025: Local public golf courses open. Dunwoodie and Sprain Lake in Yonkers, Maple Moor in White Plains and Saxon Woods in Scarsdale will open Wednesday, March 12, and Hudson Hills in Ossining and Mohansic in Yorktown Heights will open Wednesday, March 19, weather and conditions permitting. Tee time reservations may be made online (non-Park Pass holder) or by phoning the individual courses. Walk-up reservations will also be accepted. All of the courses have onsite restaurants, halfway houses and full-service pro shops. Driving ranges are available at Dunwoodie, Mohansic, Saxon Woods and Sprain Lake. Any available E-Z Reserve spots will be sold at the courses. E-Z Reserve lets golfers with a Westchester County Park Pass block out a regular Saturday or Sunday tee time for a period of 30 weeks.

March 21, 2025, 8:00pm: Esteemed Presidential Historian and Pulitzer Prize-winning Author Doris Kearns Goodwin will be the featured speaker at the Annual Brendan Gill Lecture at Sarah Lawrence's Reisinger auditorium. Goodwin, known for her extensive works on American presidents and influential historical figures, will share her insights in a talk titled “Leadership in Turbulent Times: Advice for Today from Our Best Presidents.”This free lecture is open to the public and presented each year by The Bronxville Historical Conservancy as a gift to the community. Enjoy an interview and conversation between author Fiona Davis and her Columbia Journalism School classmate Irena Stern discussing her latest novel, The Stolen Queen. A short reception to meet Davis will take place before the talk and will be open to the first 20 people to submit a photo of themselves holding a copy of the book to
