Donate & Recycle Books at Bronxville’s NEW Book Collection Bins

By the Bronxville Green Committee
Sept. 17, 2024: The Village of Bronxville is offering a new service to residents—book donation and recycling collection bins located at the DPW!
Residents can now donate books for reuse and recycling to reduce the waste stream in our community and help you clean your homes of unwanted items.
Collection bins are located at the Food Scrap Recycling site behind Village Hall at Palumbo Place.
Dropped off books will be donated to literacy programs or sold online by a third party. All types of books are accepted, including hardcovers and paperbacks, textbooks and workbooks. Books that are not donated or sold will be properly recycled. This is a unique service; we’ve discovered that most other book collection organizations do not actually recycle leftover books.
These new book bins are another example of how the Bronxville Green Committee is working with Village trustees to find easy, convenient ways for residents to reduce their waste stream.
Remember to also check Bronxville Library’s book donation schedule. Up to ten books in good condition are accepted on specific days and times.
