Dec. 23, 2015: Supervisor Anthony S. Colavita, Eileen Frey, mother of slain Police Officer Michael Frey, members of the Frey and Liscio families, and members of the Eastchester Police Department held a brief ceremony and tree lighting at the Michael Frey Memorial Tree on the grounds of Eastchester Town Hall.
The tree-lighting ceremony on December 18 is held annually in honor of slain Police Officer Michael Frey and all police officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
Supervisor Colavita said, "This tree was planted in memory of fallen Eastchester Police Officer Michael Frey. We honor him and all police officers who sacrificed their lives protecting us, together with those men and women who continue to serve each day. Let these blue lights be a constant reminder that we support our police officers and that Blue Lives Matter."
