Apr. 18, 2018: The entries below are selections from the Bronxville police blotter.
Tuesday, April 3, 3:51 pm, North Road: A 35-year-old man of Tuckahoe was charged with Petit Larceny for allegedly stealing a wallet containing $200 in cash. He was processed and released on his own recognizance pending his next court appearance.
Thursday, April 5, 7:17 pm, Milburn Street: A homeowner was warned and admonished about a barking dog.
Friday, April 6, 7:40 pm, Pondfield Road, Value Drugs: An unknown male stole several cosmetic and bathroom items and fled the store. The incident is being investigated.
Saturday, April 7, 2:36 pm, Pondfield Road: A U.S. postal worker was bitten by a small dog. The dog owner was interviewed and a record of vaccinations was provided to police. The postal worker refused medical attention.
Saturday, April 7, 10:00 pm: Police discovered a large group of underage youths having a house party. Parents were notified and responded to the scene taking possession of their children. No crime was committed.
Thursday, April 12, 5:58 pm, Park Place, Weezie D.: The Weezie D. manager reported that a male had attempted to steal paperwork from the store and fled on foot when confronted. Police used village surveillance cameras to locate the suspect on Willow. The manager decided not to pursue criminal charges against the suspect, who was ordered not to return to the store.
Friday, April 13, 2:10 pm, Park Place, Trustco Bank: A 26-year-old man and a 29-year-old man both of the Bronx were charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree (D Felony) after a bank manager reported that one of the men was in the Bronxville branch attempting to complete a fraudulent transaction. Search incident to lawful arrest led to the discovery of a fraudulent check valued at $13,963.20. Both were arraigned by Judge George Mayer and remanded to Westchester County jail after failing to post $10,000 bail.
Friday, April 13, 3:08 pm, Park Place, Trustco Bank: An ongoing investigation into fraudulent activity at the Bronxville Trustco Bank branch previously reported led to the arrest of a 29-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, both of the Bronx. Bronxville detectives were able to utilize village surveillance cameras to memorialize video of the suspects leaving the bank and to identify their get-away vehicle, including the license plate number. After intelligence was gathered, detectives and patrol personnel set up field surveillance on the bank and apprehended the woman after she withdrew $9,800 from the fraudulent account and attempted to flee the scene in the same get-away vehicle in which the man was a passenger. The man, who also had an open fugitive-from-justice warrant from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was also arrested. The man and woman were charged with the following: woman: Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the Second Degree (D Felony), Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree (D Felony); man: two counts of Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree (D felony). Both were arraigned by Judge George Mayer and remanded to the Westchester County jail after failing to post bail of $10,000 (man) and $5,000 (woman).
