Concordia College Welcomes Two New Executives: Ted Francavilla and Michelle Gittlen

Jun. 25, 2014:  Concordia College announces the hiring of Theodore "Ted" Francavilla as the college's new chief financial officer and Michelle Gittlen, Esq., as vice president of institutional advancement.

Ted Francavilla is an accomplished executive with experience in both the financial services and nonprofit sectors. He has held several senior management positions over a 26-year career with JPMorgan Chase and predecessor banks, including CFO for regional consumer banking, CFO for the credit card marketing division, and director of strategy for retail banking and head of the retail insurance business. Ted then served as a senior advisor at First Manhattan Consulting Group, providing management consulting to regional banks and other financial services clients.

In the nonprofit sector, Ted moved from a board director role to interim CEO and then COO at Lighthouse International, an organization that has served the blind and visually impaired for over 105 years. Ted has a BS in finance from Georgetown University and an MBA in finance and accounting from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Michelle Gittlen, Esq., is an experienced executive with over a decade working with nonprofits, having served as executive director of the Johan Santana Foundation, executive director of the Jorge Posada Foundation, and chief operating officer of the Joe Torre Safe At Home Foundation. In addition to fundraising, Michelle's role and responsibilities touched all aspects of managing the organizations, including board of director development, business cultivation, financial planning, and programming implementation. Michelle holds a BA from the State University of New York at Albany in English literature and a JD from Brooklyn Law School.

The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.

The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.

The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children.  All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
