'Getting Away with Murder'--Lecture by Private Investigator at Concordia's Business Breakfast Tuesday, February 23

Jan. 27, 2016:  Gil Alba, president of the Associated Licensed Detectives of New York State (ALDONYS) and a nationally recognized private investigator and security consultant, will speak at Concordia's Business Breakfast on Tuesday, February 23, at 7:00 am in the Krenz Academic Center. 

Founder of Alba Investigations Inc., he will give a presentation titled "Getting Away with Murder, Missing without a Trace."

Alba has had a distinguished career with the New York City Police Department, attaining the highest investigative rank, Detective First Grade, and has worked with the Major Case Squad and the FBI/NYPD Violent Crime Task Force specializing in difficult and unusual cases.

His experience includes complex white collar crimes and money laundering investigations, violent crimes, racketeering cases on the state and federal level, and kidnapping and abduction, including Harvey Weinstein's high-profile kidnapping case in which he helped to facilitate Weinstein's rescue and the return of a $3 million ransom.

Chosen by ALDONYS as 2004 Investigator of the Year, Alba is a frequent guest speaker on Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, and other global news networks. His article "Missing or Murdered" was published in Diana Trepkov's book Faceless, Voiceless: From Search to Closure, a Forensic Artist's Inspirational Approach to the Missing and Unidentified, and MSNBC featured his missing persons murder cases in a one-hour documentary.

Alba earned a bachelor of arts degree in behavioral science from Concordia College and an associate's degree in metallurgy from Erie Community College, and he studied professional security management at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City.

The program begins with a light breakfast at 7:00 am, followed by the presentation at 7:30 am.

The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.

The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.

The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children.  All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
