Concordia College Men's Golf Qualifies for First-Ever NCAA Division II National Championship

May 11, 2016:  The Concordia Clipper Men's Golf program placed third overall at the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Super Regionals to earn its first-ever spot in the NCAA Division II National Championship.

Concordia placed two golfers in the top 10, one of four programs to do so in a field of 20 teams and 108 players overall. Sophomore Mark Kilpatrick (Cheshire, United Kingdom, England) earned a 5th-place finish as he shot a 221 (+5) in three rounds. His best round came in the second round, where his score of 71 (-1) would be the lowest score for any Clipper throughout the tournament.

Junior Juan Roa (Cali, Colombia) placed one stroke behind with a 222 (+5), including a 72 (Eagle) for his lowest round of the tournament, to place T-6. Sophomore Chartpetch Bangpetch (Chonburi, Thailand) completed the tournament with a 227 (+11) to finish T-19, as his 74 (+2) today improved his placement by 10 spots.

Freshman Evan Hong (Houston, Texas) shot a 77 (+5) today to improve eight spots on the leaderboard, as his three-day total of 234 (+18) placed him T-49. Junior Massimo Grassotti (Torino, Italy) rounded out the scores for Concordia with a 241 (+25) to place T-81.

As a team, the Clippers finished with a 904 (+4) as its third round of 296 (+8) tied for the lowest team score on the day. Concordia finished one stroke ahead of Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference rival Wilmington (Del.) and one stroke behind Southern New Hampshire University as St. Thomas Aquinas won the tournament with an 897 (+33).

With the 3rd-place finish, the Clippers have qualified for their first-ever trip to the NCAA Division II National Championship. The tournament will take place beginning Tuesday, May 17, at the Green Valley Ranch in Denver, Colorado.

The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.

The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.

The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children.  All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
